Dr Tammy Goldwasser studied medicine at Monash University, Melbourne, graduating in 2005. She began working in paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in 2008 and has trained within the General Medicine and Mental Health departments as well as the Centre for Community and Child Health. Tammy is passionate about medical education and has tutored and examined medical students. She has contributed to the RCH Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Tammy manages a broad range of common and complex conditions from birth to adolescence with clinical interests in neurodevelopmental and behavioural conditions such as developmental delays, autism, attention difficulties, anxiety, sleep difficulties and learning difficulties. She also manages medical conditions including hay fever, asthma, eczema, constipation and toileting problems. Tammy enjoys working collaboratively with children and their families and a wider network of allied health professionals, maternal and child health nurses, teachers and general practitioners.

Tammy has a special interest in Infant Mental Health and is one of a few paediatricians in Melbourne with training and experience in the area. She provides care to infants and young children with a focus on promoting healthy social and emotional development. She is experienced in the understanding and care of babies and children with poor growth, feeding difficulties, settling and sleep issues, with an emphasis on supporting the relationship between the child and their caregivers. She has worked as a consultant on the Infant Mental Health team at the Royal Children’s Hospital and is a member of the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health. Tammy’s work in Infant Mental Health has been presented at international conferences.

As mother to three young children, Tammy understands the delights and challenges that come with raising children. In her spare time, Tammy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, knitting and learning tap dancing.
