Dr Rebecca Werther
MBBS, FRACP

Paediatric Allergist
and Immunologist

Dr Rebecca Werther completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne in 2001. She started her specialist training in Paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne in 2003, where she then went on to sub-specialise in Paediatric Allergy and Immunology. Rebecca also spent time during her training performing clinical research projects. She published a study, comparing skin-prick testing devices, which influenced the current practice at the Royal Children’s Hospital and amongst Paediatric Allergists in the community.

Rebecca finished her Paediatric Allergy and Immunology training in Brisbane in 2011, where she worked in private practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital. On return to her hometown of Melbourne, Rebecca established a busy private practice in Frankston from 2013-2016. She then relocated to work in Mornington in 2017, while planning ‘Stem Allergy and Paediatric Specialists’, which opened in February 2019. Although Rebecca has really enjoyed working on the Mornington Peninsula, she is excited to have her own beautiful new practice closer to home.

Rebecca’s areas of interest include food allergy, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), severe eczema, urticaria and other allergic conditions in children of all ages. Rebecca performs the allergy testing herself, which also allows more time to discuss management plans and allergy issues while waiting for the results in her room. Rebecca sees the importance of building good relationships with her patients and their families. She enjoys spending time educating them about allergic conditions and management, with families encouraged to ask questions to ensure that they leave feeling satisfied with the consultation and well-informed about any diagnoses that are made.

As a mother of 3 young children, Rebecca understands the anxiety parents feel about their children’s health issues. She prides herself on being approachable and compassionate.

When not at work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young children. She tries to keep a balanced life, enjoying time with friends and family, pilates, good food and travel.

Rebecca is a full member of the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).
